Hayden Panettiere’s LA Residence Was the Subject of 2 Other Police Calls in 2025

At Hayden Panettiere‘s West Hollywood apartment, officers responding to an August 9 welfare check were told the woman inside “was sick all day and did not feel good.” The visit came 7 days before the actress died at 36 in South Carolina.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department received the request at 10 p.m., according to a service report obtained by Us Weekly. The caller said the woman wasn’t answering her phone. Her identity was redacted, but a source told the outlet the request concerned Panettiere, who “had become unresponsive to many people in her circle and there was concern.”

That source said her on-again, off-again boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, opened the door for officers. The source also alleged that, following a hospitalization a week before her death, Panettiere told a visiting friend that Hickerson had taken her phone.

Us Weekly also reported 2 police calls involving her Los Angeles residence in 2025. On August 4, officers were dispatched over an unidentified man trying to get into a third-floor apartment. He’d left before they arrived, but was seen entering and leaving the building hours later.

On September 8, police received another call about an unidentified man who wouldn’t leave the building’s garage. Within 2 hours, officers made contact with a man and a woman; the man collected belongings and left. The report didn’t identify either man as Hickerson.

Panettiere, known for “Heroes” and “Nashville,” died on August 16 at a temporary residence in Greenville, South Carolina. Hickerson was there when she died. Page Six reported that he’d previously acknowledged abusing her and had been arrested multiple times.

She’d also recently spent 2 or 3 weeks at a Malibu treatment facility, her father, Skip Panettiere, told investigators in the Greenville County Coroner’s Office report. The coroner attributed her death to the toxic effects of multiple drugs, including fentanyl.
