Taylor Swift arrived at the 2026 MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles on Sept. 27 wearing a sheer black corset top and silver skirt from Tamara Ralph’s couture collection. Her expanded release, The Life of a Showgirl: The Encore, had come out Friday, Sept. 25, 2 days before the show.
Swift is among the evening’s most-nominated stars, with 11 nods. “The Fate of Ophelia” is up for Video of the Year, Best Pop, Best Art Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing, Best Choreography and Best Visual Effects. She’s also nominated for Artist of the Year and Best Album for The Life of a Showgirl, while her Toy Story 5 song “I Knew It, I Knew You” is up for Song of the Summer and “Opalite” is up for Best Direction.
During the show, she’ll receive the inaugural Artist Director Honors award and premiere the music video for her new single “Patient Zero.”
Her husband, Travis Kelce, wasn’t with her; he had a Chiefs game against the Dolphins in Miami earlier that afternoon. Swift’s preceding red-carpet appearance was in June for her induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame, when she wore a black floral Givenchy gown.
