The doll came up during Elle’s Where Is the Lie? with Gerber and her Shards co-stars Homer Gere and Hayes Warner, where Gerber owned that she keeps a screen-accurate Avatar figure on the third shelf of her closet at her childhood home. She confirmed she’s cuddled with it, and yes, she sewed it a diaper out of cloth she fashioned herself.
She named it Reeves, after Keanu. “When you guys meet Reeves, you’ll feel differently,” she said. “It sounds creepier, but you’ll meet him.”
The other two claims: she only has feeling in eight of her fingertips, both from knife accidents. She cut off the tip of her pinky slicing through a wheel of cheese for a charcuterie board, and lost part of another finger cutting into a caramel apple. She also swore she once needed the Heimlich at Disneyland after choking on a hot pickle, with her mother coming up behind her to do it.
That last one was the lie.
