‘The Walking Dead’ Sent 4 of Its Own to ‘The Odyssey’ — Here’s Who They Play in Christopher Nolan’s Epic

Turns out The Walking Dead had its own reunion in The Odyssey.

Christopher Nolan‘s epic features four actors from the zombie franchise: Samantha Morton, Jon Bernthal, Ryan Hurst, and Corey Hawkins.

Samantha Morton as Alpha, the ruthless leader of the Whisperers, a group of survivors who disguised themselves by wearing the skins of walkers.

Samantha Morton played Alpha, the leader of the Whisperers on The Walking Dead. She was the primary antagonist of The Walking Dead Seasons 9 and 10. Morton was the perfect actress for arguably the scariest scene in The Odyssey: when Circe transforms Odysseus’s men into pigs.

Jon Bernthal as Shane on The Walking Dead.

Jon Bernthal played Rick Grimes’s best friend Shane in The Walking Dead. At the beginning of the show, Shane believed Rick was dead and began a relationship with his wife, Lori. Eventually, Rick had to kill Shane at the end of season 2 because his bitterness and insecurity made him too unstable and he risked the safety of Rick’s group. In The Odyssey, Bernthal plays Menelaus, the king of Sparta and husband of Helen of Troy. He becomes king of Sparta after his brother Agamemnon is murdered.

Ryan Hurst played Beta in The Walking Dead. This was the second-in-command of the Whisperers, under Alpha (played by his Odyssey co-star Samantha Morton). In The Odyssey, Hurst plays Mentor, a trusted friend of Odysseus and a guardian figure to his son Telemachus.

Corey Hawkins played Heath on The Walking Dead. He was an Alexandria Safe-Zone supply runner who specialized in scavenging for food, medicine, and other resources needed by the community. In The Odyssey, Hawkins played Polybus, one of Penelope’s 300 suitors and a friend of Antinous (Robert Pattinson).
