Brad Pitt’s Worst Summer Ever Sounds Like It Would Have Been The Best Summer Of My Life

And this “worst summer” he was, of course, dating a model.

Brad Pitt spent the summer of 1994 in Errol Flynn’s old glass-walled bachelor pad in the Hollywood Hills, 40 chameleons in terrariums everywhere, four iced Cokes a day, no food, and the OJ trial on TV. He calls it the lowest point of his life.

“I had the weirdest summer. I had this girlfriend who was into reptiles. We bought 40 chameleons,” he told Dax Shepard on Armchair Expert. “I was living in Errol Flynn’s old bachelor pad, glass windows, filled with terrariums. Our house was like a terrarium. It was the most unhealthy time. I just needed to check out. I would wake up, I’d get a bong load, I’d have four Coca-Colas on ice, no food. This particular summer I just watched the OJ trial.

The girlfriend he doesn’t name was almost certainly Jitka Pohlodek, a Czech model he dated in 1994 and into early 1995. She reportedly moved in with her two pet bobcats, they built the chameleon collection together, and when they split he kept the lizards. He was between Legends of the Fall and Se7en, which is to say between the moment that made him a star and the one that made him a serious actor.

A mansion full of chameleons, a bong, a fridge of Coke, and all day to follow the trial of the decade. He remembers it as rock bottom. The rest of us are sitting here going, that sounds incredible.
