Finding peace starts with surrendering our worries to the universe and trusting that God’s guidance will meet us in the middle of our uncertainty. Best-selling author of Finding God Every Day, Rebecca Simon, reminds us to trust God’s timing, embrace patience, and lean on His presence through every season of life.
Holy Saturday is the hardest day to have faith. Friday brought the cross. Sunday brings the resurrection. But Saturday? Saturday is the in-between. The waiting. The silence. The day when it looks like the story is over. If you’re in your own Holy Saturday season, where you’re holding onto hope but can’t see it yet — this prayer is for you. Sunday is coming. The resurrection is closer than you think. Don’t give up.
God,
Today feels heavy. I’m in the in-between — the space between what died and what’s coming to life. The space where Friday’s pain is still fresh but Sunday’s promise feels so far away. I know the story doesn’t end here. I know resurrection is coming. But right now, in this moment, it’s hard to see it.
Help me hold onto hope even when I can’t see evidence of it yet. Remind me that just because something looks dead doesn’t mean you are done with it. Remind me that the tomb wasn’t the end — it was the pause before the miracle. Teach me to trust you in the silence, in the waiting, in the moments when it feels like nothing is happening.
God, I don’t want to give up on Saturday just because Sunday hasn’t come yet. Strengthen my faith to believe that what looks finished is actually being prepared for resurrection. Let me rest in the truth that you are working even when I can’t see it, even when it feels like everything has gone quiet.
I’m waiting, God. But I’m not waiting without hope. Sunday is coming.
Amen.
