3 Oscar Snubs That Would Break The Internet In 2025

Wicked

Wicked is up for its fair share of Oscars, and it’s easy to see why. While it may not receive Best Picture this year, we would be devastated if the film wasn’t recognized for Best Costume Design, given all the effort that went into creating each look presented in the film. It’s also a musical that’s well-deserving of the Best Original Score award, though it faces hefty competition in this category. We’re sad to see that it can’t win any additional awards for its soundtrack, which – of course – isn’t original to the movie and therefore is not elligible.

Dune: Part Two

Dune: Part Two is up for a number of awards this Oscars season, and we don’t want it to get snubbed for hardly any of them. Okay, well, to be fair – it’s unlikely that Dune is going to see a Best Picture win this year, and we’re perfectly okay with that. But when it comes to awards like Best Visual Effects and Best Cinematography, the blockbuster doesn’t deserve to come last at this year’s awards ceremony.

Nickel Boys

Some fans of this movie predict that Nickel Boys will snag Best Picture for 2025, and most can agree that it certainly deserves its shot at the award (especially against tasteless and controversial opponents like the notably inaccurate and borderline offensive Emelia Perez musical). Audience ratings prove that the film would be massively snubbed if it missed out on the Best Picture award it’s currently nominated for – though there is a lot of competition it faces this awards season.
