PERHAM — A new self-help legal clinic for residents of Otter Tail County will be opening in Fergus Falls this month by Legal Services of Northwest Minnesota, also known as LSNM.
The purpose of the clinic is to assist people who are representing themselves with civil court matters in Otter Tail County. An attorney will be available to provide personalized help, free of charge, to any community members with an Otter Tail County Court case on a first-come, first-served basis.
“After a two-year hiatus of clinics due to the pandemic, we are excited to get back into the communities we serve,” Anne Hoefgen, executive director of LSNM, said. “The Otter Tail County Self Help Clinic provides an opportunity to increase accessibility to the courts, and therefore access to justice.”
The clinic is located in the Law Library at the Otter Tail County Courthouse, 121 Junius Avenue West in Fergus Falls.
The clinic is set to open May 18, running every Wednesday from noon–2 p.m.
