Chloe Cherry Says Nobody at Euphoria Consulted Her About Sex Work for Season 3

Chloe Cherry plays Faye Valentine on Euphoria, recurring in Season 2 and promoted to main cast for Season 3. Before acting, she spent a few years in the adult industry under the name Chloe Couture, starting in 2015 after she turned 18. Sam Levinson cast her after seeing her social media presence.

She was asked in ScreenRant interview promoting Season 3, if anyone consulted her on sex work for the show, which wraps on May 31. This was her response:

Thank God. No. Nobody consults me. Nobody consulted me for this because you really don’t have to. There’s so many people that have done so much more sex work and know so much more about it than I do. Like there’s actual specialists about it. Like it’s a huge industry that has people that have been working in it for like 30 years. So there’s really no reason to ask me.

Season 3 leans heavily on sex-work storylines, most prominently Sydney Sweeney’s Cassie and her OnlyFans arc involving pup play and adult-baby content. The portrayal has been publicly criticized by real OnlyFans creators and sex workers including Kayla Jade, Sydney Leathers, and Maitland Ward, who’ve called the writing cartoonish, stereotype-driven, and in some cases impossible under the platform’s actual rules. Sam Levinson has not responded.

Cherry has said in other interviews this year that she’s tired of being treated as the default spokesperson for an industry she was only briefly part of. She told Refinery29 in April she “wasn’t a very successful sex worker,” and that the constant questions don’t track with her actual experience.

She did about 200 scenes between 2015 and her Euphoria break. The industry she’s pointing toward is 30 years deep.
