Lilo is back and as cute as ever!
The new Lilo and Stitch trailer just went live, and thankfully it looks like Disney stuck to the original heart and soul of the film. Disney is finally taking our feedback it seems!
At least from the trailer, it appears they’ve kept the storyline closely tied to the original script. This makes me feel confident the essence of the beloved animated classic is thoughtfully preserved.
The CGI looks good (no Sonic fiasco here), especially regarding Stitch, who looks as cute and fluffy as ever. They succeeded in creating lifelike yet charming representations, which adds depth and realism without losing the character’s level of super cuteness.
The trailer excels by including iconic elements that fans cherish, such as Elvis Presley’s music, reinforcing the film’s nostalgic charm. The actors also all seem to be perfect for their roles.
- Chris Sanders returns to voice Stitch, the mischievous alien experiment.
- Maia Kealoha is Lilo Pelekai, the spirited young girl who befriends Stitch.
- Sydney Agudong portrays Nani Pelekai, Lilo’s caring older sister.
- Kaipo Dudoit plays David Kawena, Nani’s supportive friend and love interest.
- Courtney B. Vance takes on the role of Cobra Bubbles, the stern yet compassionate social worker.
- Zach Galifianakis voices Dr. Jumba Jookiba, the eccentric scientist who created Stitch.
- Billy Magnussen provides the voice for Agent Pleakley, the quirky alien tasked with capturing Stitch.
- Hannah Waddingham voices the Grand Councilwoman, the authoritative leader of the Galactic Federation.
- Tia Carrere, who originally voiced Nani, returns as Mrs. Kekoa, a new character in the film.
- Amy Hill, the original voice of Mrs. Hasagawa, portrays Tūtū, another new character introduced in this adaptation.
The film hits theaters May 23, and I can’t wait! Also, Disney Parks are going have so much crazy new merch. So exciting!
