6 Characters Who Need To Survive ‘The White Lotus’ Finale Or We RIOT

I know I’m not the only one who’s been clamoring to Max at 8PM EST every Sunday for the little morsels that Mike White scatters sparingly throughout each episode of The White Lotus.

At this point, we’re all collectively attached to these characters, even if we love to hate them. Alas, this Sunday, April 6, is the finale of Season 3 and we’ll finally get to see who doesn’t make it out of Thailand alive. While the opening of the first episode promised at least one death, with the amount of bullets flying, the beach could be a bloodbath. Still, there are characters I’ve grown to love that I don’t want to see biting the bullet. Are you with me?

Belinda

HBO

She’s so likeable. She’s the most “real” of the cast, not swayed by greed or status. And the fact that she talked to Fabian when she was feeling uncomfortable about Gary/Greg, subverting the trope of characters never telling anyone when they feel threatened–the woman is a literal goddess. And her island wardrobe? Someone dress me like this. We need her to survive the shooting so she can open a spa with Pornchai. Speaking of which…

Pornchai

HBO

Belinda and Pornchai’s romance arch has been so damn cute. He’s such a sweetie, taking her fear seriously when Fabian didn’t. Since I want the best for Belinda, that also means I want the best for her island beau. Plus, he showed her how to pray for protection from the resort’s altar, which should be enough to give them both a spiritual bulletproof vest.

Chelsea

HBO

Chelsea is another of the most likeable people at The White Lotus. Despite being attached to an older rich man like plenty of the others on the island, it’s clear she’s doing it for love. And we love a girlie who will tell guys like Saxon that they’re a major douche.

Rick

HBO

I mean, he’s Walton Goggins. You can’t help but root for him even when he’s playing a bad guy. But adding in his immense personal growth throughout this season and it would hurt even more if Rick died. After all, he’s managed to control his anger, treat Chelsea better, and do nothing more than knock over an old man’s chair. Now, I could see him potentially give his life to save Chelsea, but let’s not jinx things by taking that idea seriously. Deal?

Laurie

HBO

Everyone’s favorite of the middle-aged trio of “childhood friends,” Laurie keeps it real when Jaclyn and Kate want to continue the conniving backstabbing of their youth. You just can’t help but root for her, even when she’s making questionable decisions like actually hearing a guy out when he’s clearly trying to scam her for money. If they have to kill one of these ladies, let it not be Laurie.

Gaitok

HBO

He’s just so damn sweet, what can I say? The way he crushes over Mook is like how all of us want to be loved, right? And the fact that he came to the realization that fighting isn’t morally okay for him is admirable. The fact that he was brave enough to admit it to Mook, who clearly likes the bad boy vibes, is admirable as well. Now, I could see Gaitok potentially dying in the finale to save everyone–especially since he clocked that the Russians were the ones who robbed the resort’s jewelry store–but do I want him to? No. I want Gaitok to get the girl and ride off into the sunset to live happily ever after, and I don’t think that’s too much to ask.
