Cohasset High School Class of 2022 graduates 100 on Saturday, June 4 – The Patriot Ledger

COHASSET — Bridget Kondrat took her classmates on a journey of the little things the Class of 2022 went through over the last four years as the senior class president opened the Cohasset High School commencement ceremony Saturday, June 4 at the South Shore Music Service.

Despite grade point averages and test scores playing a huge role in their school experience over the past few years, Kondrat said the graduating seniors are not defined by those numbers.

“We’re defined by who we choose to love and how we decide to show it,” she said.

“Class of 2022, let’s make a promise to talk with our parents more,” she said. “Text you love them to your family members. Go get Starbucks with your friends. Take your siblings for ice cream. This is what counts.”

Cohasset Superintendent of Schools Patrick Sullivan told the 100 graduating students that high school graduation is a gate to adulthood.

He said he hopes the graduates bring changes to society, especially by speaking up for justice for others.

“If there is going to be a change in the world for the better, it’s going to be from you,” Sullivan said.

Following the superintendent, class orator Isley Wilson said “we’re currently living in a world with more hate than love.”

She encouraged classmates to stay compassionate and bettering themselves.

She shared five steps to improve themselves: build self-love, pace yourself, know yourself, pour into others, and feed into yourself.

“Let’s lace our boots and change the world!” she said, sparking applause from the crowd.

Valedictorian Benjamin Ford said he learned success and failure over the past four years.

“How lucky I am to have something exciting to mess around with,” he said.
