TOWIE’S James Argent is prioritising “self love” and “self care” after a relapse that threatened to undo the good work of his sobriety.
The reality star, 34, shared a snap showing him relaxing at a salon as he prepared for a spot of pampering.
Arg beamed as he perched on a comfy chair with his feet in a pool of bubbles.
A salon worker could be seen tending to his toes as his pedicure at Forbici Knightsbridge played out.
The TOWIE favourite looked healthy and happy, showing off his recent weight loss in a white logo top and blue trousers.
He candidly told he fell off the wagon two weeks ago despite being clean and sober for two years.
Yet, now back on track, his salon trip came shortly after he enjoyed a “Saturday sleepover” with pal Ferne McCann and her daughter, Sunday.
‘SATURDAY SLEEPOVER’
Most read in Celebrity
Swapping a wild Saturday night out for a cosy evening, Arg spent quality time with his former co-star, Ferne.
“Saturday sleepovers,” said Ferne, as she shared a snap of him in a velvet tracksuit.
Arg was all smiles about the evening ahead – but this morning was a different story.
He shared footage of Ferne’s daughter Sunday and said: “Sleepover from hell.”
Arg was being pestered to play with Sunday first thing this morning.
He told her: “It’s too early to play hide and seek!
Fitness fanatic Ferne helped Arg slim down after doctors warned he could die.
Arg lost a staggering 14 stone following life-saving gastric surgery.
A pal said: “Ferne and James are really good friends. She’s been a huge support to him.”
He went under the knife last April after ballooning to 27 stone.
But he’s since decided to sensibly put on weight to achieve his perfect size.
‘BAD RELAPSE’
He suffered a “bad relapse” a fortnight ago after which an ambulance was called to his home.
Arg broke his silence for the first time since we revealed paramedics rushed to save him, claiming he is full of regret for putting his life in danger and vowed it will NEVER happen again.
Speaking from his home in Woodford Green, Essex, the TV favourite said: “I had a very bad relapse after having some cravings for a while, but instead of ringing my therapist I had a drink for the first time in two years.
“Addicts always say one drink is never enough – if it was, I wouldn’t be an addict – but unfortunately it just escalated from there.
“I went to a comedy night with some friends in Bethnal Green, London – it was great fun, everyone was laughing, drinking and having a good time. I was having cravings again and when we went onto the afterparty in Essex I bought a round of drinks for my friends – unfortunately I gave in to temptation and had that first drink…
“After that, I can’t get into the specifics of what I did, but that’s where it all started and I ended up at home having an awful relapse – I’d been clean and sober for such a long time, it hit me like a ton of bricks as my body and mind hadn’t been used to it for so long.
“My friends were shocked and worried about me – I wasn’t myself mentally or physically and they weren’t used to seeing me like that – it was a very scary and upsetting experience for everyone around me and it became vital that an ambulance was called.”
After taking tests, paramedics agreed it was safe for Arg to stay at home to recover where he remained for two days to sleep it off.
The Sun broke the news of Arg’s latest ambulance earlier this month, with sources telling us: “James has been doing so well, but the drastic change to his lifestyle has had pressures of its own and can be tough.”
